TBB Power has consistently produced a wide range of high-quality residential and commercial inverters. The new TBB Riio sun II series represents a promise of reliability and excellent performance, making it a worthy successor to the older Riio Sun series. It comes packed with new features, an improved design, a better user interface, and other goodies that propel it to the higher echelons of top-tier inverter brands available in the Kenyan market.
New Features
The inverter has improved features compared to our hot-selling RiiO Sun series, such as:-
1Dual MPPT tracker design
The riio sun II solar inverter comes with dual mppt trackers that allow a more flexible approach to solar panel roof placement. It also allows you to maximize your roof space as it gives you enough leeway to place the panels at different orientations. Unfortunately, this feature is only available on the 5Kva and 6Kva models and not the smaller 2Kva and 3kva variants.
The inverter comes with an increased Voc of up to 250V from the 150Voc limit on its predecessor. Each of the dual trackers handles a maximum pv input current of 36A for each tracker.
2Parallel & Three-phase Operations
Another long-awaited feature of the Riio Sun series is the parallel operation capability that has been a long overdue feature. The Riio Sun II series introduces parallel operation of up to 9 units, however, this feature has a caveat. Unlike most modern inverters that allow parallel operation by simply using a communication cable, the TBB Riio Sun II needs an additional Riio Mate accessory to make it parallel capable.
3One programmable smart port
Arguably the most innovative feature on the Riio Sun II, the programmable smart port allows you to create two AC inputs for instance from a genset. The smart port can also be programmed as a second AC output to power non critical loads.
4Low frequency transformer-based design
TBB Riio sun is well known as one of the best low frequency inverters in Kenya, it offers great performance with inductive loads since it can handle upto 200% surge power and 300% overload. This makes it a robust inverter for commercial puroposes as well as running of heavier loads within your home.
5Batteryless Operation
Though not confirmed by us, the TBB riio sun promises battery less operation at optimum conditions and with enough solar panels. Batteryless operation has been a strange concept for hybrid inverters that works on paper but not so much in practice. Multiple manufacturers have promised this but end up being a gimmick that doesn’t work as promised. With the TBB riio sun II we hope that will be different.
